Eating Instant Noodles in Ulcers: Is it SAFE or Not?

People usually boil them in water and eat them as a quick and convenient meal.

Instant noodles are bad for ulcers because they contain high amounts of sodium, fat, and additives.

One package of instant noodles can give you about 1,760 mg of sodium (73% of your daily needs), 14 g of fat (22% of your daily needs), and various artificial flavors and preservatives.

Sodium can increase your blood pressure and worsen your ulcer bleeding.

Fat can stimulate your stomach acid production and delay your ulcer healing.

Additives can irritate your stomach lining and cause inflammation.

Furthermore, instant noodles are a processed food and processed foods are bad for ulcers.

Because, they lack nutrients that can protect your stomach and promote healing, such as vitamin C, zinc, and antioxidants.

That’s why I suggest you limit your instant noodle intake to avoid aggravating your ulcer condition.

Stick to one package or less per week to minimize the risk of complications.

Also, you shouldn’t eat instant noodles if you have Helicobacter pylori infection to prevent antibiotic resistance.

Because some instant noodles contain antimicrobial agents that can interfere with your treatment.

You can buy instant noodles in most grocery stores or online.

Always choose brands that have lower sodium, fat, and additive content. Because they are less harmful to your ulcer.

You can store them in a cool and dry place for up to 12 months.

Finally, remember, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, stress management and essential medical care is key to managing ulcers effectively.
